Komastu sponsors 2 Educational resource centres at Gudalur
As a part of its CSR initiative, Komatsu, partnered with Sevalaya Samaritan Gramodharan Samithy (Sevalaya SGS) and sponsored 2 Education resource centres in Kallachil and Bennai villages in Gudalur, Nilgiris Dt.
For each centre Komatsu has sponsored a smart board with an internet connection, 10 sets of desks and benches, 10 chairs, a library rack, a steel cupboard, and library books worth ₹15,000.
Komatsu is also sponsoring the staff salary and evening snacks for the children attending the centre. At a function held on 2nd November 2022, S Kailash, Senior Manager HR and GA, inaugurated the first tuition centre in Kallachil village, Panthalur Taluk, Gudalur. The resource centre in Kallichal village is located in a Panchayat building which was fully whitewashed and spruced up by the volunteers from the community.
S Kailash, Senior Manager HR and GA, Komatsu India Private Limited said that his company “was happy to partner with Sevalaya, inspired by Bharathi, Gandhi and Vivekananda, in reaching such services to the needy in remote villages”.
K T Surendar, a community leader, participated in the function. He thanked Komatsu and Sevalaya SGS for creating the educational facility in the village, which promises great benefit the new next generation. C Narayani, Union Councillor and many villagers and children participated in the function. The second Education Resource centre was inaugurated at Bennai village. The whole village wore a festive look.
Traditional tribal music was played welcoming the Guests. C Vasu, a local community member, has kindly offered his two houses in the village to accommodate the resource centre in this village.
Union Councillor Anitha Ramesh Puthurkadu, G Meenakshi, President of the School Management Committee, A K Rajendran, Vice President of the Folk Music Artists Association, A Sabadu, Social worker and local auto driver A Kumar participated in the function and offered their congratulations.
