Born and raised in Makkamoola, Sumaiyah S got married soon after completing her +2 education. After a few years, her husband abandoned her, leaving her to care of three children alone.

Hailing from Devarshola, Shafeela completed her schooling and got married soon after. She started a family and was blessed with 3 children. Despite her husband’s irregular daily wage work, she was determined to improve their financial situation.

Shafeela discovered Sevalaya Samaritan’s Nursing Assistant course through a local WhatsApp group and seized the opportunity. She studied hard, completed her training, and interned at a private hospital in Padandurai. Her dedication paid off when she was offered a job opportunity.

      A Symbol of Resilience: Dany Thomas

A Sevalaya Samaritan Community College alumna, Dany Thomas is a resident of Gudalur hailing from an underprivileged family. Unfortunately, soon after her marriage, her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Battling to run the family with a small girl child, she took up the free Nursing Assistant course at Sevalaya. In the meantime, her husband underwent a surgery and had to continue treatment that limited his physical activities and earning potential.

Today Dany works at Sevalaya Samaritan Hospital in Gudalur and earns her living to support herself as well as her family.
